Sanctum Studio is a dynamic new arts space in the North Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. It’s a factory in a castle…yes, a castle, with turrets and towers covered in vines.
Sanctum Studio creates public art, street art and giant puppets for government, commercial and private clients. It also creates special props for film, television and commercials.
Sanctum Studio also facilitates collaborative arts projects alongside community groups and schools. We work with children, youth, families, ethnic groups, ESL classes, and people experiencing disability or mental health issues.
Sanctum Studio is managed by artist, author and puppeteer, Lachlan Plain (lachlanplain.com).
It is home to Sanctum Theatre, a visual performance company presenting live art in everyday spaces since 2006 (sanctumtheatre.org).
The studio is available for short term leases to artists and creative people.
